I was extremely happy with my performance... I really am getting the feel for driving the car.

There were 24 cars there, including a "Solo V" which is a lot like an Indy car (except much smaller), and a sort-of Fiero (all that was left was the body, floorpan, and part of the dash). Those were the 2 fastest cars, doing around 29-30 second laps.

Now, there was no official results but all the times were posted. I'm happy to say that besides those heavily modified race cars, I was in the Top 5 fastest cars!

The cars that beat me were a Porche Boxter S with racing slicks (250hp Porche, what do you expect?) who ran a fast time of 33.1 and 2 Honda Civic SiR's (running fastest times of around 33.3), but both had racing slicks, were in the "modified" class because of suspension and engine modifications, and the drivers both had 5+ years experience. And a Mazda Miata beat me also, but again he was on racing slicks and was modified (plus he has 15+ years experience!).

Bottom line is I was the fastest on street tires and even beat some modified Camaros/Firebirds that were on racing slicks. I was one of only 5 street legal cars that got into the 33-second range, with a fastest time of 33.8.

The thing I was most happy about was that the track layout was very similar to the one I ran on last year. Last year my fastest time was 39.5! So I took almost SIX SECONDS off my times!
